ACNE and Traditional Chinese Medicinal Formulas

Do you struggle with acne? Are you looking for an effective way to treat it? I spent this past weekend in NYC with a renowned expert who is teaching a large group of experienced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioners. These acupuncturists and herbalists have already mastered the basics of acupuncture and herbs and are ready to focus on using TCM Herbs for Dermatology. This advanced seminar covers the twenty most common dermatological conditions that afflict all too many people in the world. This past weekend over three full days, we studied Herpes Simplex, Herpes Zoster (aka Shingles), Pityriasis Versicolor, Vitiligo, Impetigo, Lichen Simplex, Seborrhoeic Dermatitis, and Urticaria, as well as Acne. (That was JUST this past weekend, the fourth such weekend over the past year; we've already covered psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea along with many others).

In the USA, it is very common for people to think of taking herbs as buying a bottle of something like St. John's Wort and just dosing themselves as they see fit. However, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbs are almost never taken in isolation. In its most effective form, traditional medicinal formulas are created as a custom prescription for the client and taken at least once or twice daily for a prescribed period of time, depending on the condition. The herbs commonly used are part of what we call the "Materia Medica", which is a list and description of types of natural materials that are understood to be part of the traditional medicines that make up this holistic system. Creating a specific formula for a specific person in a particular moment of their illness or wellness challenge helps these herbs be the most successful at treating people's conditions and bringing them back into balance. Balanced health can look like glowing, healthy skin, vitality of energy, sound sleep, and clarity of mind.

Some ancient formulas have been found that date back to 300 BC, and are still in use today. It is very likely although impossible to prove that these ancient combinations of formulas were long in use before these books that we still have, and perhaps part of an oral tradition or recorded in formats lost to history. If the tattoos found on Otzi the Iceman, and the plants he carried with him, are any indication, then it is possible that acupuncture and herbal medicine were practiced in some form in the Copper Age, more than five millennia ago, around 3300 B.C. It has been noted that the location of some of these tattoos corresponded to acupuncture points that could have treated some of the ailments that his mummified body shows us he suffered from. Some of the herbs he carried would have treated his ailments as well, whether tapeworms or possibly as antibiotics.

HOW CAN I GET HERBS TO HELP MY ACNE? or other skin condition? The best way to get a customized acne treatment where you can not only heal your skin but improve your digestion, your sleep, and your microbiome is to come visit a well-trained traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) practitioner. I'm here in Baltimore in the Federal Hill/ Inner Harbor area. You can set up a consult online but in order to get treated, you'll need to actually come to Baltimore. The fantastic thing though is that through the magic of dropshipping, you can be mailed your custom formula, and you can take it for several weeks to a month between appointments - and no needles are necessary to treat acne. You absolutely must take your formula (as a kind of soup or tea-like decoction) twice a day, every day. But that's it, that's all!

What kind of herbs are in this formula? That's the art and practice of TCM herbalism, but some favorites include forsythia, mulberry leaf, honeysuckle, gardenia, loquat leaf, the dry root bark of the white mulberry tree, and some other very special herbs that most people have never heard of. The main challenge for the TCM practitioner is to match YOUR condition with the appropriate herbs. Within a month you'll notice changes and within two months you will see that Traditional Chinese Medicine is amazing for your skin, for reducing acne, cystic or nodular acne, and the post-inflammatory pigmentation that remains once your acne is much better. Commit to taking the formula and make some small lifestyle adjustments, and you'll find that your inner beauty is suddenly much more evident to the world!
